Marathon

Life is a marathon. Its about refreshing the screen, waking up everyday and staying focused on having something to focus on.

Or not. You can drift too, I suppose thats what interactive web gaming escapism - something I am unfortunately neither technically, cerebrally nor culturally equipped to deal with - facilitates.

Whatever your choice of escapism, whether it becomes a healthy distraction or not, one thing is for sure, a little 'refresh' time is bound to begin pressing you for a life review at some stage.

Whether its feelings of underachievement in comparison to your peers; insecurities about your abilities and therefore future in the arena of self validation that is work play and life; or an age milestone - the refresh button never fails to start flashing.

So staying focused on having something to focus on, and in some way performing some of the groundwork necessary to provide for a favourable and helpful new screen when those periods of self reflection begin infecting your person is important.

Life is a marathon and I am going to practise.

Goal: treat this blog like a page of mental health.

Refresh my motivation at least once a week and stay on track to not losing sight of the fact that to have continuous sources of self validation- that heroin of existence, one has to work at it.

This is the first session. Let the jog on this endless road of sometimes painfully unencouraging life with its pepper sprinkles of inflated self-delusions begin.
